The cans of Merda d' Artista (artist shit) contain 30 grams, freshly preserved, produced and tinned in May 1961 by Piero Manzoni. They were first exhibited in the Galleria Pesctto on August 12th, 1961. Manzoni valued his cans of Merda d' Artista in accordance with the daily exchange rate of gold.
